But, from the top of the gondola you don't get to drop in right away. It's a 7km, 500m climb up the Stoke Trail to the start of the trail.<br><br>With our Can Am Maverick X3 Side by Sides, explore hidden waterfalls and secluded beaches on the edge of Lake Revelstoke. Take in the alpine views on Boulder Mountain or Frisby Ridge in these robust machines. This local favourite has a new parking lot and is close to town. Silent Pass, south of Golden, is a beautiful intermediate area with alpine zones perfect for all abilities. The first, and the most popular is Lumberton which is a 25-minute drive from Cranbrook. Lumberton showcases 50 kilometers of groomed riding trails, a cabin and terrain for beginners to experts. The Lumberton area is maintained by the Cranbrook Snowmobile Club.<br>Epic Alpine Rides<br>After gaining the initial bench, the terrain becomes more convoluted. A series of open benches separated by steep treed slopes will take you to the crest of the ridge. Be aware this terrain is subject to wind effect and also often harbors surface hoar. From the summit, drop in and trend left, hugging the edge of the face, but be aware, there is really big air on the other side. The entrance of Brown Shorts lies approximately 50 m below, at the intersection of the face and a ridge that trends west. Be forewarned, people have taken rides in all of these chutes, some more severe than others. The chutes are subject to severe wind loading from the south and often have big cornices at their entrances.<br><br>At the top of the second summit we reached Eva Lake which sits at 1,993 metres (6,330 ft.) above sea level. They say there is trout in the lake but not for us on this day – no rods. From the summit trailhead we proceeded along a double wide gravel trail to a retired forest fire lookout station. From the station you could see for miles in all directions . The mountain isn’t a surf break, and this isn’t Los Angeles.
